Zhou Xiaoyue was rarely flustered. She tried to break free from Lin Qianhuan’s grasp, but her efforts were futile.

“Eating my food, drinking my drinks, enjoying the ice buckets I provide, yet you demand that I grant your every wish. Do you think I’m a wishing well?”

Lin Qianhuan’s grip on Zhou Xiaoyue’s chin tightened, the pain and fear rendering Zhou Xiaoyue speechless. She wanted to retort, but didn’t know where to begin.

Lin Qianhuan suddenly exerted force, throwing her heavily to the ground, her eyes as cold as frost. Her gaze swept over everyone around, with a hint of threat in her eyes.

“If anyone else is dissatisfied with the rules I’ve set, you can stand up now, to avoid future troubles. In the battle of Nanfeng Base, I believe I did right by all of you. This northward journey is also to ensure everyone survives. As for those who want to morally blackmail me with the position of base leader, I’m sorry to disappoint you. I, Lin Qianhuan, have never lived by the support of the crowd. I am strong enough that gossip cannot hurt me. I am steadfast enough that the accusations of others cannot affect me. Do not regard me as a deity protecting you. Deities are shaped by your beliefs, but I am flesh and blood, with my own thoughts and goals.”

Using her Superpower, she dragged Wu Erpeng and others who were trying to sneak into the carriage out and threw them next to Zhou Xiaoyue. Lin Qianhuan glanced at them sideways, then withdrew her gaze.

“In the convoy I lead, my rules must be followed. I naturally do not force those who do not want to comply. Just leave directly, and I will never say a word to keep you. I’ll say it only once, if anyone dares to provoke me again, thinking they know better, it won’t just be expulsion.”

She smiled, but it sent shivers down the spines of Wu Erpeng and the others.

“Once expelled, never accepted. The five of you, please.”

Wu Erpeng and Li Nan exchanged a look, and both saw panic and regret in each other’s eyes. Following the convoy, they had three meals a day guaranteed. When the car ran out of gas, they could return to the carriage to cool off. It was a heavenly life. But now, they had personally ruined this ultra-high treatment that they couldn’t even dream of.

Swallowing nervously, Wu Erpeng rubbed his hands in a flustered manner and hurried to Lin Qianhuan’s side. “Base leader, I didn’t mean that. Please give me another chance, I promise I won’t do it again, I will definitely obey!”

Lin Qianhuan didn’t even look at him, only returned to her car, locked the doors, and closed her eyes to rest.

Her words made her position and conditions clear, and dispelled the extreme thoughts of some people. With Wu Erpeng and the others as examples, there would probably be no more people who maliciously violated the rules.

Knowing that they could no longer join the convoy, Wu Erpeng, Zhou Xiaoyue, and the others shamelessly wanted to freeload on a lunch, but were sharply rejected by the survivors.

“You don’t follow the rules, and you still want to eat the food provided by the base leader? Keep dreaming! Bah!”

Just like that, they became pariahs, despised and scorned by everyone. By the time the convoy set off, these people hadn’t even touched the edge of a bowl, their stomachs empty, now protesting with rumbling noises.

Wu Erpeng and the others sat in the car, looking somewhat irritated at the departing convoy.

Da Xiong completely panicked: “Brother, what do we do? There’s not much gas left in the car. If we go with the convoy, we can at least reach other bases and settle down. But if we travel on our own, we won’t be able to go far.”

Li Nan was still sitting in the passenger seat, his eyes flashing with calculating light. “Follow them.”

Da Xiong looked at him with some confusion: “What do you mean?”

Li Nan sneered: “She, Lin Qianhuan, isn’t the one who built the road. We’re also going to Kyoto Base, and it just so happens to be on the same route. Following behind the convoy, they can’t say anything, right?”

Da Xiong’s eyes immediately lit up: “That’s right! This way, we can have these people clear the way for us, and we can also use them to get rid of the zombies blocking the road. A double win!”

Wu Erpeng immediately felt better, and was about to grin, but suddenly thought of something. “But our car is almost out of gas, what do we do? We can’t walk, can we? That would take forever! And there are so many dangers on the road.”

Li Nan frowned, and said somewhat helplessly: “I really can’t do anything about that. We can only pray that we encounter a gas station that hasn’t been emptied.”

The car fell silent for a moment, then Da Xiong started the car and moved it forward slowly.

Just then, Zhou Xiaoyue suddenly raised her hand and knocked on the car window. She was somewhat flustered, her voice slightly shrill: “You guys quickly open the door and take me with you! I definitely won’t survive alone without transportation!”

Li Nan frowned: “What does your inability to survive have to do with us?”

Zhou Xiaoyue was stunned by his words, and angrily pounded on the glass: “Ungrateful! Cold-blooded! If I hadn’t spoken up for you, would Lin Qianhuan have expelled me from the convoy? You must be responsible for my life, quickly open the door and let me in!”

Wu Erpeng was already in a bad mood, and looking at Zhou Xiaoyue acting like a shrew, he instantly became even more impatient. “You were the one who said those things, did we force you? Get the hell away from me, or I’ll skin you alive!”

Zhou Xiaoyue was frightened and took a step back, and the red car took advantage of this gap to drive out several meters, quickly disappearing from her sight.
