Chapter 157

In this timeline, Lu Yanli was still opening doors.

He had long realized that each room behind a door was a new world.

He was trapped in a vicious cycle again, unable to break free.

Finally, he arrived at the very end of the corridor.

“How long has it been?” Lu Yanli asked, his hand on the handle of the last door, about to push it open.

“Two hours,” the Brain said.

“Is that so?” He had spent a very long time in the world within the doors, not knowing how many years had passed, but in the real corridor, he was merely repeatedly walking from one door to the next.

Looking back, the long, white corridor, with its two neat rows of orderly room doors, those were not ordinary doors, they were everything he had experienced in the past decade.

What was behind the last door?

“Are you sure you want to open this door?” The Brain’s voice was a little strange, with a tone that Lu Yanli couldn’t quite discern.

Lu Yanli: “Is there a problem?” As he spoke, his hand was on the handle, about to press down–

“Boom!”

The wall at the end of the corridor was violently smashed, creating a huge, inward-protruding mark. Soon, another blow followed.

Something was trying to break in!

The entire wall was on the verge of collapse.

“Are you still there?”

The Brain, uncharacteristically, did not answer. Lu Yanli guessed it needed to handle the invasion of the strange object. He waited quietly for a while, until the wall completely collapsed, before turning around and entering the door.

There was no one on this floor. The strange objects that had temporarily escaped danger rushed into the corridor, once again engaging in a bloody fight. Strange liquids and limbs scattered and splashed, instantly covering the entire pure white floor.

After closing the door, the wails from outside could no longer be heard. What appeared before him was another corridor.

“How do I take you?” Lu Yanli asked.

Brain: “I can temporarily detach from the machine and database that provide nutrition.”

It was just a brain, not heavy. Lu Yanli hesitated for a moment, but agreed.

“I have already granted you staff privileges, go now. In five minutes, this floor will also be invaded.”

Lu Yanli had to run while asking, “Where is the other me? Where is he?”

“He is already on the bottom floor, waiting for you,” the Brain urged repeatedly.

“Why not open a fast passage or elevator?” The corridor was very, very long. At Lu Yanli’s speed, it would be difficult to run to the end in five minutes. He wanted to open the doors on both sides of the corridor to check, but the Brain was urging him urgently, and the chaotic noise from the strange objects was approaching. He had no choice but to run towards the end according to the guidance.

This layout… it was like a “zigzag” staircase with one floor connecting to the next.

“The only uninfected staff are on the bottom floor. Everyone else has been completely infected.”

As soon as the words fell, the doorknob not far behind Lu Yanli was being frantically twisted, something wanted to escape from inside.

“Hurry!” the Brain urged.

A little girl in a red dress pushed open the door and walked out. She was very cute, with tender, fair skin, and two pigtails that swayed as she walked. But when she smiled, she revealed a mouthful of sharp fangs, reached out and tore a vine that stretched out from above, and sent it into her mouth to chew voraciously.

“Faster. This floor too,” the Brain urged.

Everything was quiet around, there seemed to be nothing unusual. Lu Yanli did not look back, but the sense of crisis in his heart was growing stronger and stronger.

“Is there a solution?”

The ceiling was collapsing faster than the previous floor, the monsters from the surface and the mutated monsters from the research institute were constantly piling up. If this continued, Lu Yanli was worried that he wouldn’t even be able to reach the bottom.

Brain: “No.”

“Using the green spores won’t work either?” Lu Yanli dodged the twisted vines coming from above, casually grabbed the little boy from the ceiling, threw him over, and continued to flee forward.

“It can, it can restrain them.”

Lu Yanli: “Then, after I enter the next floor, can I pour in seawater?”

Lu Yanli understood what it meant. The two statues were devouring each other. If he got seawater on his body, he would likely be used as a coordinate to find the location of the research institute’s bottom. This was not what the Brain wanted to see.

“I can guarantee that I won’t be found.”

“Okay, then, get ready now.”

As he spoke, Lu Yanli had already reached the end of the corridor, opened the door and rushed in.

It was another pure white corridor, and this time, he heard the sound of seawater coming from above.

He had no time to think, running desperately. In the place where he had just been standing, the wall at the end of the corridor was cracked by a violent attack, and a liquid mixed with seawater and strangely colored blood seeped out, chasing after the man’s footsteps as if it had a life of its own.

The cracked wall could no longer withstand the waves of attacks from the outside, and exploded with a bang. Seawater poured out from the hole, surging into the corridor.

“Hurry!”
