Chapter 3

Not long after, the scalp-numbing sound disappeared, and one of them spoke softly.

“Where do we go now?”

However… this waiting pavilion felt like all the staff were fawning over a celebrity. The walls that should have been displaying bus schedules were covered with yellowed posters, all featuring the same beautiful woman, with long curly hair, fair skin, and a gentle look on her face as she looked at everyone.

The repeated appearance of the female celebrity’s posters made it impossible to think there was nothing strange about it. Recalling the scenes they had witnessed in the subway station, they dared not look at the posters too much. However, there were simply too many posters here, and unless they closed their eyes, no matter where they went, they would be watched by those seemingly gentle but actually sinister eyes.

Li Fangwan asked, “Mr. Lu, do you recognize this celebrity?”

They were not from this world, so they didn’t know the people of this world, and naturally didn’t know any celebrities.

Lu Yanli shook his head, “No impression.”

He Lou understood Lu Yanli’s meaning. Either this woman wasn’t famous, or she was fictional. He said first, “I don’t recognize her either.”

“I don’t know her.”

“Never seen her.”

Li Fangzhi said coldly, “Are we waiting here, or should we go outside? It feels very uncomfortable to be watched.”

The woman’s posters were everywhere. Looking up, there were even posters on the ceiling. It was no wonder Li Fangzhi, who was sensitive to these things, felt uncomfortable being watched by so many identical faces.

Li Fangwan stopped her, “Let’s not act rashly for now. The fact that we’re staying in the station means that the station is temporarily safe.”

Although Li Fangwan looked gentle and kind, her style was very firm. She said, “We don’t know what’s outside yet. Maybe we need to look for clues in the station and find a way to break the situation. Being trapped here all the time is definitely not a solution.”

Mentioning finding clues made everyone a little nervous.

That sounded nice, but it felt like it was all based on luck. Who knew if you would find a clue or a charm that drives one to death?

The most tragic thing was that they couldn’t resist. There was no way for them to fight against the horror. They could only keep running, running all the time…

Even at the cost of sacrificing teammates, they absolutely had to survive!

They maintained a delicate balance. He Lou, Li Fangzhi, and Li Fangwan tried to find a way to break the situation, while these people were temporarily willing to act as cannon fodder.

He suddenly turned to Lu Yanli and asked, “What did you see?”

“Wh-what?”

Lu Yanli was silent for a while, “In my eyes, it’s just a… very ordinary old station, with a lot of women’s posters…”

He Lou pressed, “Are they all the same posters? Or are they slightly different?”

He immediately lowered his eyes, not daring to look any longer.

What… what could that be?

A faint blood fog slowly floated up again in the air, little by little, drifting in the air.

“Let’s go.” Seeing the blood fog gradually thickening, they had no choice but to leave, walking forward in the opposite direction of where the blood fog was coming from.

Lu Yanli followed in the middle of them, slowly falling behind.

His gaze quickly scanned the feet of the others, and his heart turned cold.

Seeing that none of them had noticed and were just walking forward along the road, Lu Yanli didn’t say much, just followed behind.

Unexpectedly, when they walked to the next empty building built next to an open road, it was still an identical station, and the station was still covered with that woman’s posters.

Everyone had already noticed. In the posters, the woman’s smile had risen a little, and blood was slowly flowing from the corners of her eyes, looking at them with malice.

The singing seemed to be coming from all around again, faint and soft, like a soft hand, wanting to drag people into hell.

“Everyone, hurry up!!”

The singing could confuse people’s minds, the blood fog would devour people’s flesh, and these posters, who knew if they could directly eat people like they saw in the subway station before?

Just looking at the woman’s slender white and sharp teeth, everyone didn’t doubt the lethality of that face at all.

Everyone had to run again, while running, they tried their best to think.

“Running all the time isn’t a solution, when are we going to escape?”

“That’s right, can’t we break the situation?”

They were a little anxious, and Li Fangwan said in a low voice as she ran, “Brother Lou, at this rate, I’m afraid we won’t be able to hold on until the next mission.”

He Lou also looked unhappy, “We clearly only received one mission, why is there an extra hidden mission?”

The mission they had received at the beginning was to spend a week in the apartment where Lu Yanli was, and at midnight a week later, they could return to their own world. This was why they were desperately protecting Lu Yanli. If Lu Yanli died, who would go in with them? Even if they found the location, did they want them to carry the corpse in?

Of course, as long as they entered the apartment, then Lu Yanli’s life was not that important. As long as he could “stay in” the apartment, what did it matter whether he was dead or alive?

The dead were even more obedient.

He Lou had already prepared that after entering the apartment, if Lu Yanli insisted on going out, he would make him “quiet.”

He had experienced too many life-and-death situations, and he had survived, with many lives on his hands. After all, every mission was a narrow escape from death, and some unlucky ones would die inexplicably on the way.

This was clearly a hidden mission! How could they have thought that there would be two missions going on at the same time?

If they didn’t enter Lu Yanli’s apartment according to the prescribed time… the consequences would be unimaginable!

A way out… what exactly was the way out?

Blood fog, carriages, women’s posters, singing…

Who exactly was this “woman”? Was the blood fog related to her? Was the singing sung by her?

“Brother Lou, think of a way quickly!!”

“Have you thought of anything?”

He Lou was a little angry, “Have you guys said enough?”

As soon as the words came out, he realized something was wrong.

He shouldn’t have been angry. Anger would affect people’s reason. Why was he angry because of a few urgings?

And these people… were also people who had returned from several missions, and were somewhat able to stand on their own. Even if they wanted to kill him, they should use him as a shield in front of the horror. Why would they be angry because of this little thing?

Anger…

Just as this thought flashed through his mind, a sharp pain suddenly came from behind.

The others looked at each other coldly, their eyes full of malice and deep anger.

“Kill him! Kill him!!”

“Kill him! We can get out!!”

Seeing that Li Fangzhi’s eyes were also turning red, Li Fangwan raised her hand and slapped her sister, “Calm down!”

The crowd slowly surrounded He Lou. He Lou took a few deep breaths and also pulled out a folding knife from his sleeve.

Lu Yanli hurriedly rushed over and stopped the skinny tall guy, “Calm down!”

He could stop one, but he couldn’t stop the second. The others had harbored resentment for a long time and were already dissatisfied.

He Lou pulled out the folding knife but didn’t attack, instead holding the knife in front of him and gasping for breath.

Singing… anger…

The first time the singing started, they had smiles on their faces…

“The singing will cause our emotions to fluctuate. The first song was joy, now it’s anger. Calm down!”

Joy, anger, will the next be sorrow and joy?

He didn’t dare to gamble.

His limbs were already a little stiff, his eyes were cold, his face gradually turned pale, his cheeks were deeply sunken, and saliva flowed unnaturally from the corners of his mouth, gasping “hoarsely.”

He no longer looked like a living person.

He was a little… like a zombie.

He got up from the ground and slowly turned his head, a pair of dark eyes staring at Lu Yanli.

“Lao Wu! Stop him!!” Li Fangwan screamed, ignoring her image.

Lao Wu was the tallest man in the team. He was closest to the skinny tall guy. Hearing this, he slowly raised his head and strode towards the two. Lu Yanli didn’t feel saved at all. He didn’t hesitate to hide behind a telegraph pole next to him!

Lao Wu was the person he saw in the team walking with an unusual gait, walking on tiptoes!!

Sure enough, almost at the same time, Lao Wu turned a corner and pounced straight at him. Lu Yanli dodged quickly, and the other’s outstretched hands pounced on the telegraph pole.

On the telegraph pole, there was a woman’s poster.

Lu Yanli gasped for breath, his eyes fixed on Lao Wu. One of his hands happened to be touching the woman’s face.

The woman on the poster instantly changed her face.

Or rather, the women on all the posters from all directions began to change their faces, their faces distorted and green, a pair of eyes focusing on that hand.

Not from the same group?

Lu Yanli guessed as he dodged the skinny tall guy.

Then, the sound of chewing rang out again.

The surrounding blood fog also dissipated a lot.

This didn’t make everyone feel at ease, for no other reason than that the little partner who could still communicate and cooperate smoothly before had turned into a monster of unknown species in an instant. He, or it would be more appropriate to refer to him as “it,” its limbs were already stiff, its hands raised straight, its knees stiff, jumping, jumping, chasing after the crowd.

Including Lu Yanli, only eleven of the original fifteen people remained!

If they couldn’t think of a way, all eleven of them were likely to be lost here.

“Everyone be careful! Don’t get scratched by it!” The yellow-haired young man shouted.

He Lou and the others dodged while thinking.

It was as if it could obtain some kind of nourishment from that flesh and blood.
