Chapter 7

“Let’s go to the Ocean Park,” He Lou said.

Huang Wei was extremely surprised, “Isn’t the mission…” Before he could finish, Feng Chuchu gently nudged him, giving a subtle glance at Lu Yanli, and he stopped talking.

They couldn’t reveal their mission to Lu Yanli.

Li Fangzhi understood He Lou’s meaning.

“What’s wrong?” He took the lead, walked out the door, and asked them in confusion under the sunlight.

Huang Wei kicked the man out.

The next second, the man raised his hand to clutch his neck, screaming violently. Under the sunlight, his shadow twisted, wisps of blood mist rose, and finally, everything returned to calm.

And the man had stopped breathing.

In the morning, they hadn’t gone out for safety reasons, and everyone’s clothes had been entrusted to Lu Yanli to buy. Now it seemed that the mission requirement of going to Lu Yanli’s apartment referred to the entire apartment where Lu Yanli lived, not just the room he lived in.

But nothing more was possible.

“This, this is… what happened to him? What’s going on?” Lu Yanli didn’t know what had happened, looking terrified and not daring to look at the corpse.

The others, however, were calm. Huang Mao said, “It’s okay, he’s just allergic to sunlight. He’ll faint if he’s exposed to the sun. Please bring him back.”

Was it really okay?

The man on the ground’s chest was no longer rising and falling, and blood was flowing from all seven orifices. No matter how you looked at it, it didn’t seem okay. Lu Yanli opened his mouth, not knowing what to say.

“Really, he just fainted.” Huang Mao said with a smile, “If you let him bask in the sun again, he might really die.”

As he reached out to grab the man’s arm, the other’s hand suddenly moved, also trying to grab him. The touch was incredibly cold. Lu Yanli didn’t care, dragging the corpse towards the apartment. In his pocket, the bus ticket was slightly hot. The hand that had tightly gripped his wrist gradually loosened.

“Yes.” Lu Yanli still hadn’t figured out the situation.

Lu Yanli opened his mouth, his eyes hesitant. Seeing hope, the others immediately started talking at once.

“That’s right, we have no way, we really can’t go. Please go for us.”

“Isn’t everyone’s goal to survive? If we don’t figure out his secret, we’ll all die here.”

To avoid being overheard, they spoke in low voices. Lu Yanli didn’t know how to refute, so he had to agree.

The group took the corpse back into the elevator. Fortunately, everyone was taking a lunch break. Feng Chuchu dragged the corpse. After reaching the third floor, he and Huang Wei did not follow the others out of the elevator, but continued upwards.

To prevent the corpse from reanimating, He Lou had them leave the corpse at the door of 404.

Even if the corpse didn’t change, if the resident wanted to call the police, they would only suspect the already strange 404 resident, not them. They didn’t want to be forcibly taken away by the police.

Perhaps it was an illusion, but after Lu Yanli and the others left, the elevator felt particularly cold.

Not the cold air from the air conditioning, but a viscous cold air from all directions, almost chilling to the bone.

It was only the first day, it couldn’t be… it couldn’t be.

Huang Wei’s legs were shaking. He tried to cheer himself up, trying not to let the terrifying scenes he had seen before appear in his mind, but he still couldn’t help but overthink.

Even the short distance of one floor seemed particularly long.

With a ding, the elevator stopped and the car door opened.

“Hurry, be careful.”

Therefore, they didn’t see that the corpse suddenly moved, autonomously moving towards a certain room door. Soon, it was like a thin piece of paper, sucked in through the crack of the door.

“How was it?” He Lou asked.

Huang Mao gave an OK sign.

He Lou nodded.

At that moment, Lu Yanli was already on his way to the Ocean Park with the camera. He always seemed to be like that, foolishly unable to refuse.

Now, He Lou was using his computer to surf the internet.

He recalled the era of the station, and then carefully searched for female celebrities from recent years.

For some reason, the shadow still lingered in his mind. He didn’t believe that escaping from the station could get rid of the curse.

The only way to get rid of the curse was to find the source of the ghost or curse.

Finally… after searching for a long time, he finally saw a familiar face.

Precisely because it was so familiar, when he saw that face, he felt a tremor in his heart, feeling that in the next second, she would turn into a resentful ghost, glaring at him with a cold expression.

“Everyone, come and take a look,” He Lou said.

He moved the mouse and clicked on the female celebrity’s introduction.

“Lan Zhiyu, born in 1964, died in 1985…”

He searched for an introduction that was of dubious authenticity, and after checking other gossip news, some said she died because of domestic violence, some said she committed suicide after her boyfriend died, and some said she died because of the backlash from raising little ghosts. There were many different opinions. But Lu Yanli didn’t seem to be lying to them. Lan Zhiyu wasn’t very famous. The most discussion about her online was only about her cause of death and gossip about her love life.

He Lou’s gaze lingered on the “raising little ghosts” option for a while.

Could it be because of raising little ghosts?

On the other side, Lu Yanli had already sent a short video.

“I’ve arrived. There are fewer people today, and the Ocean Park is empty.” He stood in front of the Ocean Park gate, recording the name of the Ocean Park with his phone.

That name… was indeed Lan Zhiyu Ocean Park.

He Lou’s heart skipped a beat.

Lan Zhiyu was definitely not a common name. Why would this Ocean Park be called Lan Zhiyu? What was its relationship with the real female celebrity Lan Zhiyu?

What exactly did Lan Zhiyu die from?

Lu Yanli had a bag slung over his shoulder, with some devices for fixing the camera inside. He checked it one last time, turned on the camera, and walked into the Ocean Park.

Meanwhile, He Lou and the others couldn’t go out, so they could only temporarily look for clues online.

Because of the old era, some paper archives were long gone. They could only hope that the investigators at the time had taken some videos or photos.

“Did you find anything?” Li Fangwan asked quietly.

Hearing this, He Lou said gently, “I found it.”

“The cause of death is…”

This was definitely not a normal death. At least, no one’s normal death would be like this, with all the blood drained from their body. The originally beautiful woman was only left with a layer of skin and bones, her death was terrifying and unbearable.

“It’s a bit like being drained by a vampire,” Huang Wei chimed in, making this comment after seeing the photos.

Of course, they didn’t dare to look at the photos too much. They didn’t know who took these photos, although they were a bit blurry, but it seemed… as if they were making eye contact with those eyes.

“I’ll look for other events related to her to see if I can find any clues.” He Lou’s fingers flew across the keyboard.

He had a feeling that he had to figure out the truth, otherwise, he might not be able to escape this apartment.

“I have it, I found it.” He Lou created a new document, began to integrate the information, and after comparing it, he deleted the obviously fabricated scandals, and finally pieced together some clues.

After all, not everyone can have every boyfriend mysteriously disappear. Each time, it had nothing to do with her. She was either working in public or traveling to other places to work. After returning, her boyfriend would disappear.

Never seen alive, never seen dead.

No wonder some people suspected her of raising little ghosts, even suspecting her of using her boyfriends to raise little ghosts.

The information also showed that Lan Zhiyu usually liked to talk about scriptures and doctrines, and often went to some famous Taoist mountains to find Taoists. This provided strong evidence for her raising little ghosts.

Raising little ghosts?

He Lou couldn’t help but be a little suspicious.

He posted some posts in several anonymous online forums, and then continued to search for information.

After about two hours, the tempting aroma of food wafted from every household. The door of room 304 clicked open.

Lu Yanli stood at the door with groceries in hand, changing his shoes, and smiled at them, “I’m back from the Ocean Park. By the way, where’s Brother Lou? I’ll give him the recording.”

“Brother Lou is in the room. You go cook, I’ll take it to him,” Huang Wei said naturally.

Lu Yanli was stunned for a moment, and as he said, he took the groceries to the kitchen to prepare dinner.

He also bought a lot of daily necessities back, which solved their urgent needs.

The light sound of chopping vegetables came from the kitchen.

Slowly watch the recording!
